Richard Lane, President & Publisher, has worked with travel and tourism accounts since 1986. He served as associate publisher and publications director of Santa Barbara Magazine and has launched and redesigned visitor magazines for Santa Barbara County, San Luis Obispo County, Beverly Hills, Ventura, and Solvang, and developed marketing materials for Preferred Hotels Worldwide, Fairmont Hotels, Omni Hotels, and others.
John Scott, Vice President & Director of Marketing, brings more than 20 years experience in sales, sales management, and marketing. He has worked with CVBs across the nation developing effective video and web-based marketing programs in Santa Barbara; Palm Springs; Tucson, AZ; Houston, TX; Rochester, NY; Virginia Beach, VA; Sarasota, FL; Lee County and Space Coast, FL; and many others.
Tracy Smith, Art Director, came to Custom Media with a distinguished professional history including previous tenures as senior designer with Patagonia, creative director at Territory Ahead, and designer at Islands Magazine.
Laura Kath, Editorial Director, is the author of 12 non-fiction books including Elvis Presleys Graceland: The Official Guidebook; MGM Grand Las Vegas Commemorative; and San Ysidro Ranch: A Century of Legendary Hospitality. From 1985-88, she was Director of Sales for the Santa Barbara Conference & Visitors Bureau; and since 1989, has owned a marketing consulting business. Laura has a degree in Hospitality Business & Tourism Marketing from Michigan State University. She is a member of the International Food, Wine and Travel Writers Association and Society of Incentive Travel Executives.
